Engineering - Industrial Aerodynamics
Armada's expertise is based on Rob Cairns' experience in aerospace, motor
vehicle and offshore engineering.

Working for Offshore Environmental Services Ltd involved wind tunnel
testing, running computer simulations and recording and analyzing wind
environment measurements taken offshore.

For the International Ecotechnology Research Centre, Rob conducted
the initial wind tunnel tests of the Lotus E-auto - a concept offering
a low impact on the environment with a target drag coefficient of 0.2.

A spell at British Aerospace provided variety of experience, including
assisting with Eurofighter Typhoon development aircraft DA2 clearance
work and test flight monitoring.

Rob's motoring pursuits have included rally marshalling, renovation
of a VW Beetle and motor sport photography - an example of which was
recently published in David Page's book "Superprix". To improve
his practical skills Rob is currently undertaking a City and Guilds course
in MIG welding.

Outside work, Rob was an Air Cadet gliding instructor for eleven years, he
currently holds a private pilot's licence and was also part of a team
that restored and flew a vintage Grasshopper glider.
